The food garden project was a resuscitation of an initiative by the City of Johannesburg to provide a poor community in the township of Alexandra.
The team donated gardening tools (spades, shovels, water cans, rakes, transplanters, garden hoes, hose pipes, taps and seeds).
They also installed 2 Jojos (water tanks) and fittings. The team planted cabbage, lettuce, onions, beetroot, tomatoes;
other seeds were kept for future planting. An event was held to officially launch the food garden and guests included the councillor
and City of Johannesburg representatives.
